Roberto Giugliani

Coordenador

Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, he completed his doctorate in the field of Genetics at the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto and his post-doctorate at Guy's Hospital, in London. He founded the Medical Genetics Service at the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (HCPA). Co-founder and Executive Director of Casa dos Raros – Center for Comprehensive Care and Training in Rare Diseases and Head of Rare Diseases at Dasa Genomics. He created and coordinates the Latin American School of Human and Medical Genetics, which promotes annual courses for young postgraduate students, residents and postdoctoral fellows from across Latin America. Full Professor of the Postgraduate Program in Genetics and Molecular Biology at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Researcher 1A at CNPq and Coordinator of the National Institute of Science and Technology of Multiomics Applied to Precision Health (IMASP).

Milena Botelho Pereira Soares

Vice-Coordenadora

Graduated in Biological Sciences and PhD in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, with a sandwich doctorate from Harvard University-USA. She is currently a senior researcher at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation/BA and Coordinator of the Tissue Engineering and Immunopharmacology Laboratory (LETI). She is a Full Professor at the Health Technological Institute of Senai/Cimatec. Founding member of the Brazilian Association of Cell and Gene Therapy (ABTCEL-GEN). Member of the ANVISA Technical Advisory Chamber in the area of ​​advanced therapies. Member of the Scientific Technical Council (CTC) of the Evandro Chagas Institute, full member of the National Biosafety Commission (CTNBio), the National Council for Animal Experimentation Control (CONCEA) and the Deliberative Council of IGM/FIOCRUZ. She is a member of the INCT for gene therapy (INTERGEN) and deputy coordinator of the INCT for Multiomics Applied to Precision Health (IMASP).

Antônio Carlos Campos de Carvalho

Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), master and doctor in Biophysics from the same institution. He is currently Professor Emeritus at UFRJ and previously served as Research Director at the National Institute of Cardiology in Rio de Janeiro. He also held a part-time Visiting Professorship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. His research focuses on cardiovascular physiology and pathology, with a particular emphasis on regenerative medicine, stem cells, and cellular therapies. He is the author of 225 peer-reviewed articles, 3 books and 24 book chapters. He supervised 30 post-doctoral students, 44 doctoral students and 25 master's students. Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). He currently leads the Advanced Therapies Line and is a member of the Steering Committee of the INCT for Multiomics Applied to Precision Health (IMASP).

Guilherme Baldo

He has a degree in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) with an emphasis on Industrial Pharmacy, a master's and doctorate in Biological Sciences: Biochemistry from the same university, having completed a sandwich doctorate at Washington University in Saint Louis and a post-Doctoral internship at Stanford. He is currently Associate Professor in the Physiology department at UFRGS, Professor at the PPG Genetics and Molecular Biology and the PPG Physiology at UFRGS. He is a member of CTNBio (since 2020) and participates in the National Network of Gene Therapy Specialists (RENETA), linked to ANVISA to evaluate Gene Therapy products in the country. It works to develop new treatments for rare diseases, especially gene therapy. He is currently a researcher and member of the Steering Committee of the INCT for Multiomics Applied to Precision Health (IMASP).

Iscia Teresinha Lopes Cendes

Geneticist and Professor of Medical Genetics and Genomic Medicine at UNICAMP, leader of the Molecular Genetics Laboratory and main researcher at the Brazilian Institute of Neuroscience and Neurotechnology (BRAINN), the Brazilian Initiative for Precision Medicine (BIPMed) and the Institute of Multiomics Applied to Precision Health (IMASP). For more than 30 years he has dedicated himself to studying the genetics of epilepsies, integrating basic research, large-scale genomics and clinical application in the diagnosis of genetic epilepsies and other genetically based neurological diseases. Recognized nationally and internationally for her work, she is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC), the Academy of Sciences of the State of São Paulo (ACIESP) and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). He is a member of the Technical Advisory Group on Genomics of the World Health Organization (WHO – TAG-G), the Genetics Commission and the Task Force on Precision Therapies of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), in addition to the Advisory Board of the Human Genome Organization (HUGO). He currently leads the Advanced Therapies Line and is a member of the Steering Committee of the INCT for Multiomics Applied to Precision Health (IMASP).

Pedro Braga Neto

Neurologist, graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Ceará, residency in Clinical Medicine from the Federal University of Ceará and in Neurology from the Federal University of São Paulo, Title of Specialist in Neurology (Brazilian Academy of Neurology-ABN), Doctor of Science in the Concentration Area in Neurology from the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at UNIFESP/SP and Post-Doctorate in Neurology from UNIFESP/SP. He works as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Clinical Medicine at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and Associate Professor at the State University of Ceará (UECE). Head of the Neurology Service of the Nervous System Unit of the Walter Cantídio University Hospital (HUWC) / Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and is a member of the Steering Committee of the INCT for Multiomics Applied to Precision Health (IMASP).

Ursula da Silveira Matte

She has a degree in Biological Sciences – Bachelor's degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, a master's degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. She is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Genetics at UFRGS and develops her research activities at the Experimental Research Center of the Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre. In 2008, she was elected Affiliate Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. Since July 2024, she has been Director of Research at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre and currently leads the Pharmacogenomics Line and is a member of the Steering Committee of the INCT for Multiomics Applied to Precision Health (IMASP).
